The House Bill 2765 “The Elderly Poor Pension Act” has been approved in the Committee level. COSE and and its partner older persons organization presneted their position paper during the committee hearing. Political issues delayed the committee hearing in the Senate. On May 21, 2008, the Committee on Social Justice will hold the first committee hearing at the Senate.
We are hoping that the senators will approved the Senate Bill 1657 “The Needy Senior Citizens Financial Assistance Act” in this scheduled committee hearing.
